While we at Gateway LSAT are very proud of our classroom courses, we understand that sometimes there is no substitute for a true expert’s undivided attention. With this in mind, we offer Private Tutoring for $70-$90 per hour, even less when bundled with our courses! We offer Private Tutoring (in-person) and Virtual Private Tutoring (via video or whiteboard) as either a means of supplementing our courses (or others’ courses!), or as a means of doing your entire prep! Here’s a breakdown of what each option would entail:
Private Tutoring As Advanced LSAT
Once a student has attended the full course and learned how to approach each question and logic game type, that student must practice employing these effective methods. Through Gateway Private Tutoring is designed to advance each student’s LSAT skill set in two ways:
- Identify which areas of the test in which a student might be less confident or skilled, and then address those areas in greater detail and with more relevant examples.
- Use simulated LSATs to prepare in terms of pace and comfort-level (taken solo or proctored), then in-turn going over every question that a student is not confident in, “filling in the gaps” in that student’s skill set by giving full explanation of WHY the answer is what it is.
Through this model, a student may choose to spend most prep time self-studying, with occasional check-ins with the Gateway expert, or may choose to meet regularly with the Gateway expert, for a more active level of guidance.
Private Tutoring As Gateway LSAT Course Supplement
While our course is meant to move at a moderate pace, obviously not every student will master every lesson on the first try! While our course empowers students to address these issues on their own, many choose to check in with a tutor to help with structure, motivation, and more difficult conceptual issues.
Private Tutoring As Entire Prep
This course is perfect for the student who works best with personal guidance, and can
be offered in-person as LSAT On Location™ over a few days or as Virtual Private
Tutoring via webcam or whiteboard. Generally the 16-hour course can be covered in
12-14 hours as Private Tutoring, leaving any balance of tutoring hours to improve in the
ways listed above!
Private Tutoring As Supplement To Other Courses
From time to time, we field calls from students who have been disappointed by other LSAT courses. First of all, your prep with Gateway will account for your previous work and we will make sure that we’re just covering new material as much as possible. Because we welcome the opportunity to prove our value, especially compared to our competition, we will also discount any course or tutoring package by at least $100 with proof of previous enrollment in a competitor’s course.
